The problem
Grades slipped over two terms, and every conversation at home turned into an argument.
Late night screens, poor sleep and skipped breakfasts had become normal.
Underneath the attitude was a teenager who had privately concluded he was not good enough.
Our approach
Counselling gave him a private, judgement free space, separate from parents and report cards.
We worked on sleep and nutrition basics first, because no mindset survives exhaustion.
Study pressure was reframed into small, winnable goals.
The outcome
Sleep improved first, then mood, then focus, in that order.
He rebuilt trust with his parents through structured conversations.
The next exam season was calmer for the whole house.
